Verum Ultimum Gallery invites artists to explore the theme, "The Living Mark" and enter work that is any interpretation of the call. We don't seek to drive the work, we only hope to discover your unique vision and showcase it. All 2D mediums are welcome and works can be abstract, symbolic, realistic, representational, minimalist, or contemporary. Mark making is an integral part of the creative process and defines the picture plane or form. The most successful works seem to be enlivened by these marks (whether abstract or representational). This call emphasizes the process with a focus on the individual style of the art maker (whether impassioned, studied, or subdued). What kind of marks and/or mediums do you use to lead to great results? What is your personal interpretation of this metaphoric or symbolic vehicle, “The Living Mark”. How do you use the Living Mark in your work?
